Another great birding day with lousy weather... It was supposed to clear today, but no such luck! Had a first-of-the-year Cape May Warbler.
Other birds: White Throated Sparrows (about 20), Chipping Sparrows, Harris's Sparrows (at least three), Lincoln's Sparrow, White-Crowned Sparrows (at least two), Red-Breasted Nuthatch, Clay-Colored Sparrow, Rose-Breasted Grosbeak, Ovenbird, and a female Purple Finch.

I got a kick out of this one, a gust of wind and his little bloomers appeared!

The Gray Squirrel with a totally red tail, not frosty looking like the other one. I call her Hawk.

We too enjoyed some great birds on a morning with lousy weather. Your Harris's Sparrow is awesome! I hope one shows up here in the next week or two although they are much more likely in our area in the fall. keep up the great posts!
Thanks Michael! This was the first year I've had more than one Harris's in the yard - pretty cool! Now that the weather is nicer though, there are fewer birds (of course!)
